Ceramic Chemistry Workshops
I remember being told about the importance of knowing how a pot would be glazed before making it. Ever since, understanding the how and why of glazes work has become an obsession. It now serves as a cornerstone of my making process.
After eight years of dedicated study, I conducted my first workshop in 2021 and have since taught in both London, UK, and Barcelona, Spain.
These workshops are designed to help students and fellow potters deepen their understanding of this intricate subject. Whether in English or Spanish, I blend practical exercises with technical lectures, covering the origins of raw materials, their properties, various firing temperatures, firing methods, color manipulation, and glaze effects. The content can be tailored to different lengths and skill levels based on the audience's needs.

I studied Ceramics at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, earning my degree in 2016. For the past seven years, I’ve been teaching wheel throwing at Crown Works Pottery in London. I also spent a year at Maze Hill Pottery working under Lisa Hammond and completed an apprenticeship with Steve Sheridan in the Blue Mountains, Australia. These experiences have broadened and shaped my practice.
I have led several specialised workshops, covering topics such as plates and chargers, large-scale pots like moon jars and tsubos, as well as complex shapes like teapots. My workshops have been held in various studios across the United Kingdom and Mexico.
