Tea Cup
Dimensions: Approximately 8.5 cm (H) x 11 cm (W)
(Slight variations may occur between pieces, each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.)
This handmade, wheel-thrown tea cup has a pale blue glaze and a pigmented iron rim. Its intensity varying subtly depending on the firing process. Each piece is reduction-fired for twelve hours in a gas kiln that I built this year. The blue hue originates from natural iron traces present in the London-sourced clay, recovered from a construction site near London Fields.
The tea cup is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Made with white stoneware clay and a satin blue glaze, it may develop natural staining over time from drinks like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the artistry of handmade ceramics.
