Rice Bowl
Dimensions: Approximately 7 cm (H) x 13.5 cm (W)
(Slight variations may occur between pieces, each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.)
This handmade, wheel-thrown rice bowl shows my Lark Hill Ash Glaze, with its intensity subtly shifting based on the firing process. The green tones are derived from naturally occurring iron in the ash used for the glaze, in this case, sourced from a mix of trees from my in-laws fireplace. Each piece is reduction-fired for twelve hours in a gas kiln that I built this year.
This dish is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Made with red stoneware clay and ash glaze, it may develop natural staining over time. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics.
